Sensations of Sound Virtual Reality Film Screening and Discussion
Join us in the main gallery of the Computing Center on Monday, December 4th, as TechLab hosts DSI's end-of-semester virtual reality event. We will have Cardboard viewing stations available for attendees to watch "Sensations of Sound," a New York Times virtual reality film about Rachel Kolb, a Ph.D. student in English at Emory. The film provides viewers a chance to experience what music felt like to Rachel before and after receiving cochlear implants at the age of 20. The event will include a panel discussion and Q&A session with Rachel and Daniel Reynolds, Assistant Professor of Film and Media Studies. Attendees will also be able to try out TechLab's HTC Vive headset to explore additional experiences in virtual reality. Refreshments will be served.
